The European Union adopted a new Directive
In 2005 The European Union adopted a new Directive 2005/32/EC on the eco-design of energy-using products (the Ecodesign Directive).
It is also known as the EuP “Energy using Products” (energy-using products). This directive covers all energy-using products and equipment (Products), with the exception of vehicles and public transport vehicles.
In 2009, it was replaced by a new one – 2009/125/EC – most commonly referred to as the “ErP Directive.” One of the main changes was the scope. The scope now includes not only energy-using products (Products), but also energy-related products (Energy related Products).
